The Project plan for the FY26 renourishment provides for coastal storm risk management through the construction of a beach berm in the communities of Sea Bright, Monmouth Beach and Long Branch in Monmouth County, NJ. The approximate quantity of Beachfill in the base bid is 595,000 cubic yards (CY). There are multiple options of quantities varying from 155,000 CY to 348,000 CY, totaling to 791,000 CY of optional Beachfill placement in the contract and an option for remobilization/demobilization due to environmental windows and a strict no-work period between March 1 and October 15.
The Elberon to Loch Arbour Reach is located within Sandy Hook to Barnegat Inlet Section I which was initiated in response to continued beach erosion and damages incurred along the coast of New Jersey as a result of coastal storms such as hurricanes and nor’easters. The project was originally authorized by the River and Harbor Act of July 3, 1958, in accordance with House Document No. 332, 85th Congress, second session, and further modified by Section 854 of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 1986, (P.L. 99-662).
Construction cost is in the range of $25,000,000 to $100,000,000.
OPERATIONAL CONSTRAINTS
The Contractor will conform to all local, state, and federal laws while carrying out the construction process for this project.
The Contractor shall prepare and submit a site-specific safety and health plan to the government for approval prior to mobilization.
