Cultural Sensitivity Map Development

The City of Cottonwood is soliciting quotations for consulting services to create a cultural sensitivity map . Additional information and specifications can be found in the Statement of Work included.

The City of Cottonwood was awarded grant funds from the 2024 CLG Historic Preservation Pass-Through Grant to be used for consulting services to create a cultural sensitivity map of the City of Cottonwood. Methods for developing the map would consist of accessing AZSITE resources to determine areas within the City that are more likely to contain archaeological and paleontological resources. Other methods, as determined necessary and within budget constraints, may be utilized if indicated at the preliminary meeting. Staff will ensure adherence to the Freedom of Information Act regarding the disclosure of known artifact locations.

The City of Cottonwood was established in the 1870's as an agricultural community and incorporated in 1960. The City is located within Yavapai County with a population of 12,296 (2022) and encompasses 27.4 square miles (17,576 acres) within its corporate boundaries.
