The Town of Crossfield has initiated a proactive infrastructure improvement program aimed at enhancing the reliability and safety of the municipal water distribution system. This program focuses on the systematic replacement of broken or inoperable water main valves and aging and non-functional fire hydrants throughout the community.
The Town is planning to replace seven (7) water main valves that have been identified as critical for maintaining system integrity and efficient water isolation during maintenance or emergencies. These valves have reached the end of their service life or have become non-operational due to corrosion, leakage, or mechanical failure. Specifications must follow the Calgary 2025 Standard Specification for Waterworks Construction.
The Town plans to replace two (2) fire hydrants that have been identified as requiring immediate attention due to wear, damage, or operational concerns this year. Specifications must follow the Calgary 2025 Standard Specification for Waterworks Construction.
