The County of Franklin is accepting sealed quotes for the provision and delivery of Landfill Maintenance Stone to
the Franklin County Municipal Solid Waste Landfill, located at 9340 Virgil Goode Highway, Rocky Mount, VA
24151. Use the form at the end of this document to supply quotes.
This contract period will run for one year, from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

All quotes must be sealed and clearly marked “Landfill Maintenance Stone” in the upper left-hand corner of
the envelope.
Quotes will be received until Monday, June 29th, 2026, at 4:00 P.M.
Electronic submissions will not be accepted.
Any quote received after the specified deadline will not be considered.

Specifications
General:
Franklin County is requesting quotes to supply and haul maintenance stone for stockpiling at the Franklin County
Landfill, located at 9340 Virgil Goode Highway, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
Material Grades Required:
• #26 Crush and Run
• #57 Stone
• Surge Stone
Execution:
The awarded contractor(s) shall deliver stone to the designated stockpiles at the landfill.
Occasional tailgate spreading may be required.
A weight ticket for each load must be provided to the landfill scale house attendant.
Bidding:
Quotes must be submitted on a delivered price per ton basis.
Award(s) may be made per individual line item, based on the best combined stone/haul cost for each material
type.
Separate contractors may be selected for different stone types, quantities, or quarry sources.
This is not a quantity bid contract.
Payment:
Invoices submitted by the 10th of the month will be processed for payment the same month, provided load
tickets match received deliveries.
Franklin County is tax-exempt and will pay the quarry directly.
