This Project is a public work and subject to prevailing wage requirements as set forth in Labor Code §1720 et seq. The bidder/contractor and all subcontractors of every tier are required to pay laborers performing any portion of work on the Project not less than the prevailing wage rate established for the labor provided. Pursuant to Labor Code §1771.4(a)(4), prevailing wage rate monitoring and enforcement shall be by the California Department of Industrial Relations (“DIR”). Each bidder must be registered with the DIR pursuant to Labor Code §1725.5 in order to be qualified submit a bid on or to perform work on this Project. Bids submitted by contractors not registered with the DIR will be rejected as non-responsive. All subcontractors listed in the bid also must be registered with the DIR at the time of bid opening. At all times during performance of the Project, the bidder/contractor and all subcontractors, of any tier, must be registered with the DIR.

Any requests for interpretation or corrections must be made in accordance with the Information for Bidders Section, Interpretation of Documents and Addenda” and according to the “Bid Process Timeline.”

The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept or to reject any one or more items on a bid, or to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bids or in the bidding process.

Background
Project Summary:
The project consists of comprehensive alterations to the existing relocatable foodservice building (Building 100 K-1) to accommodate the installation of new commercial kitchen equipment.
Key Scope of Work:
- Foodservice Equipment: Selective demolition of existing kitchen elements and installation of new equipment, including a kitchen exhaust hood and associated Ansul fire suppression system upgrades.
- Interior Finishes & Upgrades: Modifications to the roof and flooring to support new equipment. Upgrades include new sheet vinyl flooring with integral cove base, fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) wall panels, acoustical ceiling tiles, and interior painting.
- MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing): Extensive utility modifications including the installation of new makeup air units, exhaust fans, heat pump units, new electrical panelboards, power and lighting modifications, fire alarm updates, and new plumbing, gas, and floor trough drains.
- Site & Exterior Improvements: Removal and replacement of the existing exterior pre-fabricated access ramp. Exterior scope also includes service yard modifications, new concrete pads for HVAC equipment, and the installation of new chain link fencing and maintenance gates.
