BILLINGS METRO VISTA PROJECT

OPPORTUNITY FOR PARTNERSHIP & REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

FY2025-2026

The Billings Metro VISTA Project (B-MVP) has been an AmeriCorps Volunteers In Service To America (VISTA) site since 2009. The B-MVP is sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service and is facilitated by the City of Billings - Community Development Division. In order to prepare an application to continue the B-MVP through FY2025-2026, the Community Development Division is seeking partnerships with non-profit organizations and government agencies in acquiring Host Site status through a Request for Proposals process.

AmeriCorps VISTA is a national anti-poverty initiative placing volunteers with community projects through local and national recruitment efforts. Host Sites support full-year VISTA members that typically begin in August or February and are college graduates.

The Billings Metro VISTA Project supports placements of AmeriCorps VISTA members at nonprofit organizations to reduce the risk of homelessness and create the tools people in poverty need to build sustainable futures. The City Council's 2025 adopted strategies for the reduction of crime, family justice, domestic violence, substance misuse, and mental health are also priorities for the CNCS (focus areas include education, housing, employment, food security, access to healthcare and services benefiting veterans and military families). Members may also be trained in City-sponsored initiatives to share information and resources with other communities across Montana to further project reach, scope, and overall poverty impact. Examples include the development and implementation of a plan to affect homelessness; assistance in developing poverty-based impediments to housing access and equal opportunity; the expansion of services to assist veterans and their families; and the development and implementation of a homeless services survey.

More information on becoming a Host Site is available online at www.BillingsMT.gov/hostsite . A Request for Proposals Guide Book and proposal form are available by request to Carly Collins via: phone 406.247.8675 (TTY 711) or email For security reasons, you must enable JavaScript to view this E-mail address. .

Proposals received by 5:00 pm on January 10, 2025 will be prioritized for August member placement consideration. However, proposals will be accepted throughout the year.

Technical assistance is available, upon request, to interested parties through the Community Development Division. Special arrangements for participation by individuals with hearing, speech, vision impairment or physical disabilities can be made upon request. Non-English speaking persons wishing to participate will also be accommodated through translation and / or interpretation in accordance the City’s Language Assistance Plan. Fair Housing Equal Opportunity.
