Summary

See attached for full scope

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is requesting bids for: DNR Barkcamp State Park Pioneer Village Trail Improvements

Background Information: The Barkcamp Trail, once completed, will be nearly 1,800 linear ft of constructed natural surface hiking trail. The trail is currently deteriorated asphalt and portions will need to be removed to create a new crushed aggregate trail suitable for hikers of all abilities. Scope of Work:

Since this is an existing trail in an upland area, no storm water permits or other construction permits are expected. The continuous trail will be comprised of 2 sections. Roughly one half of the trail is in the grass open area near the historical Mail Pouch barn within the campground. The second portion is through the wooded area adjacent to the historical barn. An existing elevated walkway will need to be removed and a 48" half culvert with cohesive fill is to be added in its place to an elevation similar to the existing deck height of the walkway that is being removed. The trail will need to be expanded in some areas to be a finished width of 48" in all areas. The intent, upon completion, is that this will be a non-motorized, all weather, natural surface hiking trail for hikers of all abilities, including wheelchairs, that will have interpretive signage along its path. This path may be overlaid with asphalt at a late date.
