Synopsis:
The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Columbia Healthcare System located at 6439 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC 29209 intends to make a direct award to Henry Schein located at 135 Duryes Road, Melville, NY 11747 for the purchase two separate line items, specifically line item 1 which is for 2 each, Part Number: 844-0019, NOMAD Pro 2 Handheld X-ray System, which is used for portable and forensic dentistry. It is designed for operator safety and patient acceptance. and line item 2, which is for 1 each of part number 445-1881, Planmeca ProMax 3D series cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) unit that offers a selectable field of view (FOV) from 5x5 cm to 11x8 cm. It's designed for versatile dental and maxillofacial imaging, providing both 2D and 3D capabilities. Henry Schein does not utilize subcontractors or resellers on purchases, so there is no competitive group. Thus, a sole source acquisition strategy is being selected. The NAICS code utilized for this procurement is 339113 with a Small Business Size Standard of 800 Employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, Contractors may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the contracting officer whether to continue with the sole source procurement or to provide for competition, should information be made available to the Contracting Officer to document similar products which meet or exceed the stated salient characteristics identified below.

All interested parties shall submit clear and convincing documentation demonstrating their capabilities to satisfy the requirement listed to forward responses by e-mail to Joseph Locke, Contracting Officer, joseph.locke@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete with the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO 7, will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice of intent. Only written responses will be considered. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this notice of intent, the Government shall determine if a solicitation will be issued. Any prospective contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for the award.
