Title: Sycamore Trail Extension (Phase III) Construction
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 4/24/2026
Due Date: 5/15/2026
The City of West Sacramento is accepting sealed responses for Sycamore Trail Extension Phase III to be received no later than Friday, May 15, 2026 at 2:00 pm .
The bid specifications, including instructions on how to bid, standards for a responsive bid, and project specifications, are attached hereto in Attachments and incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in full
This Sycamore Trail is a 5-phase project that is intended to transform the City's existing active transportation network by creating a true spine for non-motorized users to have safe, and convenient access throughout the City. The Sycamore Trail was identified as a top priority by the City through over a decade of outreach with the community, driven primarily by parents and residents who desire to walk and bike more, but who are deterred by existing high stress routes. West Sacramento has many existing barriers to active transportation, including the bisecting UPRR railway, US Highway 50, and Deep Water Ship Channel.
The Sycamore Trail Extension project will make progress toward overcoming these barriers by transforming a currently disused, blighted sewer right-of-way into a seamless Class 1 connection with park-like amenities for users of all ages and abilities, and will provide important connections between Westfield Village and Westmore Oaks Elementary schools, multiple existing and planned Park sites, Senior and Low-Income housing developments, and nearby shops and restaurants. With Phase 1 and Phase 2 already complete, the proposed Phase 3 extension project is a critical segment to catalyze the remaining trail build out.
The Project location will utilize the Lower Northwest Interceptor (LWNI) sewer easement from the Westmore Oaks School site (1110 Clarendon Street) to Park Blvd at Stone Blvd. Project improvements include but not limited to constructing 2,900 feet of Class I Trail with lighting, lowering utilities, sidewalk and curb ramp improvements, signage and striping.
