The Town of Bridgewater (Town) seeks Engineering Services for design, project management, tender preparation and construction administration to upgrade the town’s King Street Wastewater System. This will include the evaluation and upgrade of Pump Stations #4 (PS#4) at 400 King St. and #6 (PS#6) located at 808 King St., including a review of their function in the existing wastewater system with the recent upgrades to Pump Station #11 and the new 400mm forcemain to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).
This RFP will also include the design and construction of a new forcemain for PS#4 and upgrading of the south King Street gravity sewer from Maple Street to Pump Station #11 (PS#11) at 164 King St.
The Consultant will be required to provide a design that reviews the current locations of PS#4 and PS#6 to ensure the sites meet all current design and operational standards, including flood and disaster mitigation. The project consultant will ensure continuous operation of existing sanitary sewer infrastructure, including gravity sewer, forcemains and station operations for the duration of construction and obtain all permits required to complete this work as per the enclosed specifications.
Design services will be required to identify and address operational issues and necessary upgrades to the existing wastewater system, providing design options to achieve the most practical implementation of all the required upgrades. The consulting services anticipated, include but are not limited to, a detailed review of the existing wastewater system, including modelling, preliminary design, detailed design, full tender package (drawings and specifications), construction services, commissioning services, as-built information package, along with any surveying, geotechnical investigating, testing, etc. required to complete the design and construction services.
