Sealed Bids for the following project are sought:
Underpass Project at Uptown Station
|
|
General Project Description: This project consists of furnishing all work necessary for the construction of a new pedestrian underpass under the Union Pacific Railroad at the Uptown Amtrak Station, Joliet Sub MP 124.10, connecting a proposed North Plaza and South Plaza. The improvements include excavation and construction of a proposed box culvert underpass structure. The box culvert work includes expedited construction of the underpass using precast sections, built under staged construction with the closure of one track per stage. Work also includes the addition of a tiered seating area in the South Plaza with a performance space, trail and decorative lighting, retaining walls, landscaping, removal and replacement of the Amtrak platform, MEP work, fiber installation, a pump station to ensure drainage for the underpass and plazas, and all other work required to complete the project according to the plans and specifications. A location map is shown on the cover of the construction plans.

This is a prevailing-wage project.

A non-mandatory hybrid pre-bid meeting will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 2:15 PM virtually via Microsoft Teams and in-person at the Ronald J. Hill Conference Room (Room 334), Uptown Station, 11 Uptown Circle, Normal, IL. On Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 5:00 PM, the virtual meeting access information will be sent by email to all plan holders of record.
