INVITATION FOR BIDS
The City of Clayton is accepting sealed bids for the Hanley House Masonry Repairs Project. Bids will be received by the City of Clayton Director of Parks and Recreation, 50 Gay Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105, until 2:00 P.M. CDT, on Friday January 30th, 2026. The bids will then be publicly opened andread aloud at The Center of Clayton, Meeting Room C at 2:05 P.M.
Project Overview

The City of Clayton is seeking qualified contractors for the restoration of the interior basement foundation at the historic Hanley House, built circa 1855. The scope of work includes professional tuckpointing of the limestone foundation, using historically appropriate lime-based mortar to preserve structural integrity and prevent moisture-related deterioration. All work must adhere to historic preservation standards.

The City intends to issue a Notice to Proceed on or before February 11, 2026.

Bid documents will be available from the city’s website: www.claytonmo.gov/bids starting Monday, January 12, 2026.

An optional pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, from 11:00am to 12 noon. The meeting will be the only time the House will be open and available to view the work, The meeting will be held at the Hanley House, 7600 Westmoreland Ave, Clayton, MO 63105.

Questions regarding this project should be directed to Justin Whipple, Superintendent of Parks, City of Clayton. All questions shall be submitted in writing via email to jwhipple@claytonmo.gov . No questions will be accepted after 5:00 PM on Monday, January 26th, 2026.

Not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages shall be paid to all workmen performing under this contract in this area according to the rates determined by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri.

A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

The City reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and waive any irregularities in the best interest of the City.
