Description

The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase the ECHO Cellcyte 3 Live Cell Imaging and analysis system, along with the dedicated software, hardware, installation and training from VWR International Co. (VWR), the exclusive distributor for Discovery ECHO Inc. Discover ECHO, Inc., a BICO company, is the sole designer and manufacturer of both the Cellcyte 3 Live Cell Imager and its dedicated software. The Cellcyte 3 is a complete imaging and analysis system designed for long-term monitoring of live cells. The Faculty of Vet Medicine at Ucalgary conducted a detailed assessment of available live-cell imaging systems, focusing on technical compatibility, operational requirements, and the ability to maintain cell viability during long-term imaging experiments. Based on this evaluation, it was determined that the selected instrument supports flexible multi-user scheduling, maintains optimal environmental conditions for long-term cell viability, and meets all technical and operational requirements essential to the research program. Therefore, it is the department’s understanding that ECHO Cellcyte 3 Live Cell Imaging System is the only instrument capable of fulfilling the department’s requirements without significant compromise to functionality, workflow efficiency, or experimental integrity.
