Description:
ADVERTISEMENT FOR EXECUTIVE ARCHITECT
UCLA requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select an Executive Architect for the proposed RRUMC Pharmacy Master Plan Study (Project #CP1586). Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (RRUMC) is located at 757 Westwood Plaza on the UCLA main campus within the City of Los Angeles.
The proposed project would renovate and reconfigure approximately 15,000 SF of existing pharmacy spaces throughout the Ronald Reagan Hospital to remain compliant with regulatory requirements for the California State Board of Pharmacy, accommodate the expansion of Intravenous Additive Service (IVAS) pharmacy, and consolidate satellite pharmacies through centralization to increase operational efficiency. The renovated spaces would provide United States Pharmacopeia (USP800) storage, a hazardous drug compounding room, along with the addition of new equipment for Automated Dispensing Systems (ADS), and centralized pharmacy services.
The construction cost for the project has not yet been determined and is dependent upon phasing. The work may be executed in several incremental projects. It is preliminarily anticipated to be between approximately $10M- $15M, depending on the agreed-upon scope of work.
Responses to this RFQ should demonstrate familiarity and experience in the planning, design, and construction administration of hospital utilities, clean and hazard room operations, security applications, equipment selection, and interior finishes for a pharmacy, including California's Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAi) for OSHPD 1 buildings, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations, California Department of Public Health requirements (Title 22), and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The personnel proposed for this project must also demonstrate expertise in these areas.
The final selection and appointment of the architect for the proposed project are contingent upon project approval by the University of California Board of Regents or their delegated authority and per the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The project is subject to review and approval by the UC Board of Regents or their delegated authority.
The selection committee will base their review of the Executive Architect's submitted proposals and selection on the Selection Criteria form (Attachment A). This RFQ is for full design services comprising basic architectural services. The services include the schematic design, design development, interior package, construction documents, cost estimate, assistance during the bid/award phase, construction administration, record documents, and project closeout; however, the University reserves the right to defer negotiations concerning services other than pre-design studies until the completion of the pre-design phase.
The complete RFQ packet will be available at http://www.uclaplanroom.com on Monday, February 24, 2025. Responses to the RFQ are due by or before 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
