Summary

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil & Gas Resources Management is accepting bids for the construction of a hands-off working display of 4 different style wells through Ohio’s rock formation each on its own side of the column-like structure.

Name or Title of the Service or Supply : Division of Oil & Gas, Well Through Formation Display

Bidders must be in good standing on all other awarded work at time of award.
Ordering & Delivery Address:
Ohio Department of Natural Resources
Division of Oil & Gas Resources Management
2045 Morse Road, Building F
Columbus, Ohio 43229

Specifications :
The Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management is seeking to have a 5’ high by 3’ wide 3D hands off column-like working model of the 4 styles of wells found in Ohio and the rock formations they are dug through. The model should be 3’ wide to accommodate the equipment for the well and scenery. On top of the 5’ rock formation, there should be about another 1’ of space allocated for the well surface equipment and scenery. The display will be placed on a 1’ black pedestal smooth sided base that will support the display with a plexiglass style enclosure over top. The display should be able to be taken apart in 2-3 sections to allow for easy movement between events. Total weight should be no more than 100 pounds. The ability to store within cases during transport would be a nice option.
The display will have the appropriate well surface equipment on the top. The well below the ground surface should be a representation of each type of well. The well should be dug to the appropriate depth through the rock formations.
Wells Include:

  1. Horizontal Shale Well
  2. Conventional Oil and Gas Well
  3. Injection Well (Class II and Class VI)
  4. Water well

The well below the surface should be able to illustrate the flow of gas, oil, brine or water with the use of illustration.  Much like the illustrations below:

The display should be made of a material that is sturdy and can withstand being moved between events. Materials need not be too heavy to be moved by two people. Rock formations and depths should be labelled on display. Rocks should be modeled to look like the actual rock layers of the earth using modeling foam or equivalent.
Wells Should be Drilled To Specific Depths on Model and include the following equipment:
  1. Convention Oil – XXXXX ft (Side 1)
    1. Pump Jack
    2. Tank Battery
    3. Water well – 150 ft
  2. Conventional Natural Gas – XXXXX ft (Side 1)
    1. Valves
    2. Water well – 150 ft
  3. Horizonal Well – XXXXX ft Down, XXXX ft Horizonal (Side 2)
    1. Christmas Tree
    2. Surface Tanks
    3. Water well – 150 ft
  4. Injection Well Class II – XXXXX ft (Side 3)
    1. Pump House
    2. Storage Tanks

  5. Injection Well Class VI – XXXXX ft (Side 4)
