This project entails limited scope weatherization improvements to the Meriden Public Library, 105 Miller Street, Meriden, Connecticut. The purpose of the project is to address random water penetration through the exterior building roof assemblies. Repairs and/or replacement of deteriorated exterior weather sealants at vents, grilles, louvers, parapets, facias, curbs, expansion joints and various roof and wall penetrations.
The roofing contractor shall be certified as a Firestone designated and trained system installer. The roofing contractor is to inspect the entire roof all levels and effect repairs, consistent with the warranty, where and if required. Where indicated, the contractor shall install new EPDM membrance and flashings consistent with the manufacturer's standards and warranty and compatible with the installed warrantied roof system.
The existing roof is a Firestone Platinum EPDM system installed in 2022 with a 30 year manufacturer's warranty as follows:

The Meriden Public Library is a 53,000 SF two story structure. The original 45,000 SF building was built in 1973 and an 8,000 SF addition was completed in 2023. The 2023 addition was designed by TSKP Studio Architects and built by Montagno Construction at a cost of approximately $13,200,000. The entire roof was replaced as part of the 2023 renovation, modernization and expansion project.
