The City of Sonoma is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to conduct a comprehensive condition assessment of the City’s storm drain infrastructure. The project will help identify and prioritize capital improvement needs within Sonoma’s municipal storm drain system and support long-term asset management planning.

The City maintains approximately 742 catch basins and inlets, 46 miles of storm drain pipeline, and 35 storm drain outlets. Through this assessment, the City aims to better understand the condition of existing infrastructure, identify areas requiring maintenance or rehabilitation, improve system mapping and data collection, and develop recommendations for future capital improvements.

The selected consultant will review existing records, develop and implement a field inspection plan, collect infrastructure condition data, and prepare a final technical report with recommendations for maintenance, rehabilitation, replacement priorities, and future investigation needs. Project deliverables will also include GIS-compatible infrastructure data, video and photographic documentation, and support for presenting findings to City staff and the City Council.

View and download a pdf of the RFP on the City’s website . Questions regarding the RFP must be submitted by June 22, 2026. Responses to questions will be issued by July 6, 2026, and proposals are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on July 24, 2026. The City anticipates contract authorization in August 2026.

Interested firms can download the complete Request for Proposals and submission requirements from the City’s website . Questions regarding the solicitation should be directed to Elif Myers, Public Works Environmental Compliance Analyst , with Ashley Cotter copied.
