The Green Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) is a transformative public transit initiative aimed at enhancing urban mobility and quality of life in Calgary. It will connect diverse communities by offering improved transportation choices with a new fleet of modern, low-floor train cars designed for accessibility and seamless integration into neighborhoods.
After a decade of planning and securing over CAD $6 billion in funding from the City of Calgary, the Province of Alberta, and the Government of Canada, the project is advancing towards main construction. Approximately CAD $1.4 billion has already been invested in planning, design, and preliminary works, setting the stage for the first phase of construction.
