Title:
Third-Party Administrator (TPA) Services for Employee Health Benefits
Scope of Work/Services:
The Washoe County School District (District) is performing a market review for its health benefits third party administrator (TPA) to evaluate options related to ASO services. It is the District’s intent to evaluate the possible replacement of its current TPA through this Request for Proposal (RFP). The District is looking to replicate the structure and services of the current health benefits administrator. The District invites vendors to propose ASO services for self-insured elements of the District’s group health plan as outlined below, including administrative responsibilities for medical, dental, prescription drug, provider/pharmacy networks, employee wellness program, employee assistance programs (EAP), and COBRA administration (COBRA administration is being considered but is not required). Vendors proposing individual components on an “unbundled” stand along basis will not be considered. The District is not accepting any proposals from agents, brokers, consultants, or other independent sales representatives. LP Insurance Services, Inc. (LP) is the District’s contracted insurance broker and will be consulting with the District throughout the RFP process. Any proposals received from agents, brokers, consultants or other independent sales representatives will not be considered. Proposers are required to submit a detailed implementation plan including a timeline to implement the program. Additionally, proposers are required to submit names, backgrounds, and resumes for all key staff being proposed to work on this project as well as a detailed
customer service plan to include the firm’s overall approach to customer service as well as information pertaining to any call centers that would be utilized and the hours of operations for such call centers. Each respondent shall fully acquaint themselves with the scope of work and requirements set forth in this RFP. Respondents shall also thoroughly examine documents provided as Exhibits and Attachments to this RFP and be familiar with plan specifications.
