Ceilings and pathways
1. Which spaces at Colt Andrews require classroom audio equipment beyond the classrooms listed in
FAQ #4 - specifically the library, auditorium, and gymnasium/cafeteria? The library, auditorium,
and gymnasium/cafeteria are also used as instructional spaces and should include audio equipment.
The proposed equipment may differ from the standard classroom setup based on each space's size
and configuration.
2. FAQ #5 notes that not all spaces have drop ceilings. For the 8 classrooms in the Colt building and
the 17 in Andrews, can the District identify which spaces have drop ceilings and which do not? The
ceiling conditions for these spaces were reviewed and discussed during the mandatory
walkthrough. Vendors should base their proposals on the existing conditions observed at that time.
3. Where surface-mount conduit or raceway is required, does the District have a preference on
material, type, or color - for example painted aluminum versus PVC? The selection of material,
type, and color is at the vendor's discretion. It should blend with the existing finishes and overall
appearance of the space.
4. For the Colt building, does any device mounting, pathway, or exterior installation require historical
review or approval? If so, who is the reviewing authority and what is the typical timeline? If fixture
is temporary no approval is needed
Network and power
5. Page 5 states the District provides all switching. Can the District confirm available PoE budget and
available switch ports at each IDF serving Colt Andrews, and the PoE standard supported (802.3af,
at, or bt)? Responsibility of the district depending on the selected solution. Vendors should indicate
the requirements.
6. Will the District perform all switch configuration, including VLAN assignment, IP addressing,
firewall rules, and any multicast configuration required for paging? If so, who is the District's
technical point of contact for that coordination? Yes.
7. Page 16 notes the generator serves a head-end facility separate from Colt Andrews. What backup
power, if any, currently exists at Colt Andrews for the IDFs and head-end equipment, and does the
District intend to provide UPS capacity or expect the vendor to include it? UPS provides backup
power to network equipment. Vendors should recommend UPS requirements in accordance with
best practices and applicable regulations.

Cabling and demarcation
8. At endpoint locations, will District-provided Category 6A cabling terminate in a wall jack or a
surface-mount biscuit? The vendor will provide patch cables from that termination to the end
device. This is to be determined. Vendors should indicate the termination that is needed.
9. Page 5 assigns District-side patching to the District. Can the District confirm whether closet-end
patch cables are District-provided, or should the vendor include them? District-provided
10. Does the District have a color-coding standard for patch cabling that the vendor should follow? Not
applicable
Server and integration
11. If a District-hosted virtual appliance is proposed, what hypervisor platform and version does the
District operate, and what are the District's standards for VM provisioning, backup, and snapshot?
Proxmox 9.2 BWRSD takes regular snapshots / replicas and backups via Proxmox Backup Server.
12. FAQ #4 and page 12 reference District-managed ChromeOS devices. For visual notification to
Chromebooks, does the District require Google Cloud Directory Sync or another specific identity
integration, and who administers the Google Workspace environment? We are a Google district and
everyone has a Chrome device.
Mobile application
13. The proposed solution includes a mobile application for iOS and Android. Is the application
intended solely for authorized District staff, or does the District also want it used for broader
community notification such as school closings? If community notification is desired, please
confirm the intended audience and whether that capability should be included in the base bid or
priced as a separate item. Authorized District staff only.
