QUESTIONS:
Asking for 50 new residential carts but the total amount wanted exceeds 50. Do they need to all be "new"?
The count is 68 as described in the worksheet on page 14 and 15, yes all new.
Scope of work section 2.5. Are you wanting notification of any on call service requested?
All request for an on call dump, should be either made by or notified to (By the driver) the contract administrator.
Scope of work section 2.9 Is there room to pull the container out and then lift the container up? Please advise further on the clearance.
The containers are driven int the middle of the quad and dropped. After graduation a truck will collect the container and drive off with it. There is no height limits where the dumpsters are to be unloaded and loaded. Although, transporting the dumpster to the proper location, the truck will have to travel through a gate with the height restrictions listed in section 2.9 pg. 17.
Scope of work section 2.12 Do you currently have a rebate established with Charleston steel?
Yes
Are you willing to negotiate legal/insurance terms on this bid?
The terms of the solicitation are not negotiable.
On the summer schedule, some of the containers are listed as a different size compared to the normal session schedule.. Can we keep the same size container but change the service level as requested?
The container sizes listed in the normal session schedule remain the same for all other sessions. However, the frequency of pickups changes when transitioning from normal session to summer session. Example: VTF will be 6 yd during normal session and during summer session.
On page 31, additional containers for Citadel events are listed. Are you wanting cost per dump listed here? We are assuming these would be temporary containers.
Yes, if needed, state the cost of collecting an additional container by size in the case of special events, or as needed by The Citadel.
With regards to the FEL service, all barracks, Byrd/Duckett Hall and Dunneman apartments need to be
serviced between 0800 and 0900. All others state between 0200 to 0600. Can we also service the front load vast majority between 0200 and 0800?
If it is not specifically stated in the contract, it can be arranged prior to start up.
Can we service the roll-off containers prior to 0700, for example 0200 to 1500?
If it is not specifically stated in the contract, it can be arranged prior to start up.
What have been the weights of the roll-off containers for C&D debris and MSW?
3.5 tons on average.
6 YD containers on wheels- the industry (especially Waste Connections with our industry leading safety measures) are generally doing away with this large of equipment/containers on wheels due to the potential shoulder and back injuries. These have become a pattern in the industry of anything north of $250,000+ for a single WC claim. Would we be able to bid these as a 4 yd container to mitigate the weight, then reflect that in the price or pickup schedule?
No, It is the Citadel's responsibility to push containers to the pickup site (Street) between 0800 and 0900 and roll containers back to the barracks upon completion. It is the responsibility of the Vendor to maintain the casters and containers in proper operation and aesthetics, Page 17 para 2.13. Bidding should reflect all specifications listed in the solicitation.
