Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Strategic Facilities Plan
Project Number
HMC12186
Project Status
Architect/Engineer and Design/Build Selection
Campus
Hershey College of Medicine
Project Description

The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center opened in 1967 and has expanded over the decades into a 550-acre campus, the only full-service academic medical center between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Together, the College of Medicine and Penn State Health comprise a premier academic hub that has grown significantly in facilities and square footage, though much of the original infrastructure has seen limited renewal.

The Strategic Facilities Plan will align campus space and infrastructure with the strategic priorities of both the College of Medicine and Penn State Health. This effort will evaluate current and future needs across the entire campus, ensuring the physical environment supports long-term institutional goals.
