RFP 2027-0500-0039 Indicator 8 & 14 Project

Alaska’s Department of Education and Early Development (DEED)’s Special Education Office is required to report on the health of Alaska’s special education system to the Federal Office of Special Education Program (OSEP). An annual performance report (APR) is submitted each year to OSEP. It includes 17 different indicators reflecting various aspects of special education. This position focuses on the collection and reporting for two of those indicators (8 and 14).

• Indicator 8 measures the extent to which parents perceive that school districts have adequately involved them in their children’s education.
• Indicator 14 measures the percent of youth who are no longer in secondary school, had individualized education programs (IEPs) in effect at the time they left school, and were:
  • Enrolled in higher education within one year of leaving high school.
  • Enrolled in higher education or competitively employed within one year of leaving high school.
  • Enrolled in higher education or in some other postsecondary education or training program; or competitively employed or in some other employment within one year of leaving high school.
