Description

Environment and Climate Change Canada has a requirement for expanding and maintaining the map of adaptation actions through interviews as detailed in the Statement of Work, Annex “A” to the bid solicitation.

Objective of the Requirement

The Canadian Centre for Climate Services (CCCS) is seeking professional services to assist in gathering a balanced coverage (from across regions, sectors and climate change impacts) of adaptation examples from across Canada to add to the Map of Adaptation Actions. The examples must include key information related to adaptation, such as what climate information was used to understand the changing climate; the tools, guidelines and resources used to identify actions favorable to climate change adaptation; and the actions implemented to adapt to the changing climate.

Specifically, the services being requested have the following objectives:

1.        To identify and prioritize examples for development, considering CCCS priorities, that help address gaps in the existing database of examples on the Map.

2.        To undertake interviews with proponents of identified examples, using previously developed interview materials and methods.

3.        To develop written examples for the Map, using pre-existing templates and guidelines, that reflects the experience of action leaders, is insightful and useful for the uptake and implementation of adaptation actions in Canada.

4.        To validate final content with proponents, to ensure all information has been captured accurately and appropriately.

As a result of this contract, which is expected to run for four (4) years, the anticipated number of examples to be gathered is 8 to 12 per year (4 to 6 for the first year). This would lead to a total of 28 to 42 examples at the end of this multi-year contract.
