Description

The Navy intends to host an Industry Day to engage with the private sector on capabilities and capacity related to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and advanced inspection techniques. This notice is published on the System for Award management (SAM.gov) in accordance with FAR 5.201.This event is intended to gather information for market research purposes in accordance with FAR Part 10 and FAR 15.201(c) and will not include a formal solicitation.

Specifically, the Navy is seeking to understand the current state of private industry related to the following key areas:

  1. Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) with Time of Flight Diffraction (ToFD): Assessing private sector capability and capacity to support Navy requirements, particularly for inspections where current organic capacity is insufficient to meet demand. Participants are advised to review general Navy requirements in Enclosure (1).

  1. PAUT Procedure Development & Qualification for Structural Applications: Seeking industry partners to help develop and qualify PAUT inspection procedures for various structural applications in accordance with Navy technical publications and standards found in Enclosure (1).

  1. Data Architecture for NDT: Exploring the development of a seamless digital data architecture for NDT records to support efforts in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and create a digital framework for future expansion. The goal is for data to reside in an AWS government cloud hosted environment. Participants should have an understanding of NDT data standards, Data ontologies, and DICONDE.

This Industry Day will provide a forum for interested parties to learn about Navy objectives and challenges in these areas and to provide feedback on industry capabilities.
