REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
Prequalification Packages for the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College CBTC Annex Automotive Program
Expansion Project will be received via email only (PDF format only, not to exceed 20 MB) to
collegeenvironment@rccc.edu until and no later than 2:00 pm local prevailing time on Thursday, August 20,
2026. Hardcopies will not be accepted.
Proposals received after the announced time and date for submittal will be rejected. Firms are responsible
for ensuring their proposal is received before the deadline indicated. Contractors will receive an email
receipt notification that their package has been received.
All firms must be registered with the North Carolina Electronic Vendor Portal (eVP and Purchase Orders)
prior to presenting a proposal. Failure to register may result in disqualification. The North Carolina Electronic
Vendor Portal may be found at https://evp.nc.gov/
Contractual Requirement: All bidders must agree to execute a contract that incorporates and adheres to the
State of North Carolina's General Terms and Conditions. These terms are available for

Pursuant to the statute, this form gathers information about the contractors seeking to qualify for the work and
provides a general format for the prequalification criteria. Completing this questionnaire does not guarantee
prequalification. Evaluation of the submittal shall be performed by the prequalification committee in accordance
with 143-135.8 and the State of NC Prequalification Policy (attached).
Contractors are not to use the blank template from the SCO website but to use the project specific form from
the Prequalification Committee which follows.

SCOPE OF WORK / CONSIDERATIONS
1. Expansion / Renovation of existing 11,995 sq ft building and addition/ replacement of some mechanical
equipment
2. Close coordination with College Environment and Academic Programs - semi-occupied existing facility
3. Large classroom division into an open office space for three (3) staff positions: Wall; IT and Electric
Additions.
4. Addition of outdoor pad, awning, fence & new air compressor plus associated new compressor piping.
5. Demolition of existing obsolete air compressor and associated piping.
6. Demolition of existing wooden structure over Electrical Room.
7. Installation of wall and new electrical subpanel for additional receptacles in existing Welding Lab.
8. Addition of lab area exhaust ducting, hood and fans plus exterior wall and window modifications.
9. Modification of existing automotive exhaust ducts.
10. Addition of new automotive lifts and exhaust ducts.
11. Miscellaneous plumbing, mechanical, and electrical modifications.
12. Reinforcement of existing concrete slabs at two new automotive lifts.
13. Addition of three (3) large LSHV Fans, power and controllers in existing spaces.
14. Installation of new lighting in shop / lab areas.
15. Modifications to existing HVAC system for balancing and humidity control.
16. Painting interior lab space walls from floor to roof structure (excluding structural steel).
17. Cleaning and treating existing lab concrete floor and re-sealing.
18. Replacement of two (2) existing overhead panel doors.
19. Addition of new overhead door with associated masonry removal and steel framing.
20. Coordination and integration of existing HVAC with College - BAS, and security access at new office.
21. Integration of all pertinent aspects of the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Facilities Design Manual
and relative Building Codes.
