Synopsis:
The work consists of implementing four localized conveyance improvement "spot fixes" along the Upper Qu'Appelle River to improve berm integrity, and erosion protection. The scope generally includes clearing and grubbing, topsoil stripping and replacement, excavation, placement, and compaction of impervious fill to construct berm upgrades. Some locations include the installation of corrugated steel pipe drainage inlets with flap gates along with placement of geotextile, gravel armor, riprap, and associated erosion and sediment control measures. The project also includes temporary access roads, care of water, environmental protection measures, site restoration, seeding, and reinstatement of disturbed areas following construction. WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province’s water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing dams and related supply channels.
