Nature of Requirements:

The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.

The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to conduct food premises sanitation inspections. The work will involve the following:

1.1 Background

The Correctional Service Canada (CSC) requires contractors to conduct the inspections, as CSC does not have any qualified inspectors to complete the work.

1.2 Objectives:

The contractor must provide food premises sanitation inspection services annually.

1.3 Tasks:

1.3.1        Conduct Food Premises Sanitation Inspection services for CSC Food Services Facilities (including, but not limited to, receiving and storage areas, food handling, preparation and service, dining areas, dishwashing, waste disposal and kitchen staff washrooms and changing rooms) at a frequency of no less than once per contract year, using the CSC Food Premises Sanitation Inspection Report provided at Schedule III.

1.3.2        Work with the Assistant Warden Management Services (AWMS) at each site to establish a mutually agreed upon annual inspection schedule. Schedule I provides the full address of each site. The annual kitchen inspections must include, but are not limited to, the following:

a.        Identify public health hazards, and report deficiencies that are not compliant with Correctional Service Canada policies and guidelines with respect to food services.

b.        Inspect Food Services facilities as defined in Schedule II: Central Kitchen, Common Kitchen (Small Group Meal Preparation), and Receipt and Sale areas.

c.        Conduct inspection debriefing with the food services manager immediately after the inspection.

1.3.3        The Contractor must perform the work during CSC regular business hours (Monday to Friday, between 8h00 and 16h00).

1.4 Deliverables:

1.4.1        The Contractor must submit a completed Food Premises Sanitation Inspection Report (see Schedule III) outlining the results of the inspection and the recommended required corrective action. The Contractor must submit the reports to the following CSC employees within ten (10) working days after completing the inspection:

a.        Food Services Manager at the institution

b.        Project Authority – Regional Project Officer Food Services

1.5 Location of work:

a.        The Contractor must perform the work at the locations below:

Bath Institution

Collins Bay Complex

Joyceville Complex

Millhaven Institution

Stream 2:

Grand Valley Institute for Women

Stream 3:

Beaver Creek Complex

Warkworth Institution

b.        Travel

i.        No travel is anticipated for performance of the work under this contract.

1.6 Language of Work:

The Contractor must perform all work in English.

Any conditions for participation of suppliers not specified in solicitation documentation: none.
