Description

Background:

Edmonton Institution is a maximum-security institution for men, located at 21611 Meridian Street NE, Edmonton, Alberta, T5Y 6E7.

The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to maintaining compliance with all federal and provincial building and safety codes. The National Fire Code of Canada requires annual testing and certification of fire alarm, fire protection and life safety protection systems within all CSC institutions and community correctional facilities by trained and qualified personnel.

Objectives:

Inspection, testing and certification of all eleven aspects of the Edmonton Institution fire protection and life safety systems in accordance with the latest editions of the NFCC, NBCC, NFPA, CAN/ULC S536, CAN/ULC S552 and CSA B64.

Deliverables:

1. a. The Contractor must fully complete all annual and semi-annual services as described in the Statement of Work Annex A. The Contractor must complete the work by September of each year.

1.1. a. The Contractor must provide separate, thorough final reports in electronic format in PDF on a USB stick detailing all testing and inspection data and results for each system aspect covered by this contract. The Contractor does not have to submit any hard copies of these reports.

b. The Contractor must deliver each electronic report to the project authority within 30 calendar days after completing testing and inspection of each system covered by this contract.

1.1.2        Each electronic report for each system aspect tested and inspected must also contain:

a. A deficiency section that individually refers to each device and component that the Contractor’s technician deems deficient and the explanation why that device or component is deemed deficient.

b. The Contractor must not include a quoted of the price to repair and correct deficiencies in the deficiency report and must not delay the completion and delivery of the electronic report of each system aspect for each institution. Need a quote & prior approval before the contractor start the deficiencies, please.

1.1.3 At the beginning of each report and for each separate fire protection system aspect tested or inspected, or both, the report must include the full name and certification number and if applicable the American Water Works Association, backflow assembly tester certificate number of the technician(s) who completed that test or inspection, or both, on that date.

1.1.4        The Contractor must affix all necessary inspection tags to the units tested. The date on the tags must be reflect the current year of testing.
