The Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services Newborn Screening group is looking to purchase devices used by Virginia submitters (hospitals/midwives/pediatricians) to collect newborn screening samples from newborns shortly after birth. The specialized newborn screening collection cards are made with a unique filter paper (Revvity 226/Ahlstrom) used to collect blood samples from newborns within the first 48 hours of life. These cards need to be printed with the specific Virginia NBS templates and formatted to run on the laboratoryâs current Revvity Panthera Puncher and Revvity DBS Puncher equipment. They also must have serial numbers/barcodes that work with the current Virginia NBS program. The laboratory needs both Virginia Initial NBS Devices and Virginia Repeat NBS Devices
