Stormwater Outreach Services

The City of Rancho Cordova, Public Works Department is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for Stormwater Outreach Services.

The goal of the City’s Stormwater Public Outreach Program is to educate the public about the harmful effects of stormwater pollution and to encourage the public to participate in activities that protect local creeks and rivers. The target audiences of the Stormwater Public Outreach Program include the general public, students, and businesses.

The ultimate purpose of the City’s Stormwater Public Outreach Program is to improve the quality of urban runoff and protect the quality of local creeks and rivers. The City’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater Permit requires the City to ensure that the Public Outreach Program uses appropriate media to measurably increase the knowledge of target communities regarding the impacts of urban runoff on receiving waters. It also requires the implementation of solutions for the target audience that lead to behavioral change and reduce pollutant releases to the municipal storm drain systems and the environment.
