MPJ Panel 1 Charm Replacements
Description:

The work outlined in this RFQ is to remove offsite, repair and reinstall an existing custom decorative cast resin and bronze fence panel at Marsha P Johnson State Park, 90 Kent Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. It is strongly recommended that all bidders visit the project site. Marsha P Johnson State Park is an active public park with high visitation, no storage of materials on site will be allowed. Working hours shall be Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Scope of Work here are below:

•General
o Mobilization
o Protection of existing conditions
o Removal of all debris
General Contractor shall provide examples of at least (10) waterfront park constructions, including custom fence fabrication, custom sawn paver restoration, historic masonry construction, custom concrete work and custom artwork painting with their bid.

•Exterior Improvements
o Remove Pavers SF 50 SF or as required by the work
o Carefully Remove Panel 1 per drawing A02
o Install Temporary chain link Fencing at existing opening
o Transport the panel to resin fabricators’ s shop
o Transport the panel from resin fabricator’s shop upon completion
o Remove Temporary Fencing
o Reinstall Panel 1
o Reset Pavers SF 50 SF or as required by the work
o Paint and Caulk, as needed
o Cleaning and site restoration

•Special Construction
•Provide resin samples and examples of at least (10) comparable public art installations by the resin fabricator with bid. Resin fabricator shall be Atta Inc. 450 West 31st Street New York, NY 10001 212-295-7763 or approved equal
•Resin fabricator shall remove the existing resin from 7 charms as identified by the Directors Representative
•Resin fabricator shall make (7) positive silicone molds of existing metal resin enclosures
•Resin fabricator Make (7) negative silicone molds from positive molds for final resin castings
•Resin fabricator shall cast new resin with Smooth-On Crystal Clear 206 Resin & Smooth-On’s So Strong pigments utilizing a custom color
•Resin fabricator shall provide color and material samples for approval
•Resin fabricator shall install (7) single color (various), polished castings. Castings to be installed with Silicone in the fabricators shop.
