Mini Split Air-Cooling Unit Installation

1. REQUEST
Sanilac County is takes bids from qualified HVAC contractors for the furnishing and installation
of a 24,000 BTU multi-zone mini split air-cooling system at the Sanilac County Courthouse
Administration Office.
The selected contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and supervision
necessary to complete the project in a professional manner.
2. PROJECT SCOPE
The project shall include the supply and installation of one complete 24,000 BTU multi-zone
ductless mini split cooling system with the following components:
Required Equipment
One (1) outdoor condenser unit, approximately 24,000 BTU multi-zone compatible
One (1) indoor wall-mounted air handler, approximately 9,000 BTU
One (1) indoor ceiling cassette air handler, approximately 15,000 BTU
Compatible remote controls or wall thermostats for each indoor unit
Refrigerant line sets, condensate drains, control wiring, disconnects, mounting brackets,
and all accessories necessary for complete operation
Installation Requirements
Contractor shall provide:
Complete installation of all equipment
Electrical connections (coordinate with licensed electrician if required)
Refrigerant charging and system startup
Condensate drain installation
Penetrations, patching, sealing, and finish repairs associated with installation
Testing and balancing of system performance
Cleanup and disposal of packaging and debris
Permits
Contractor shall be responsible for:
Pulling all permits through the Construction and Land Use Department
Ensuring full compliance with all applicable building, mechanical, and electrical codes
3. SITE CONDITIONS
Bidders are encouraged to inspect the site prior to submitting proposals.
4. CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS
Bidders must provide:
Current Michigan contractor license(s)
Proof of insurance
Experience installing similar mini split systems
5. WARRANTY
Contractor shall provide:
Manufacturer’s standard equipment warranty
Minimum one (1) year workmanship warranty on installation labor
6. IMPORTANT DATES
Bid Opening Date: May 15, 2026 at 2:00pm in Sanilac County Boardroom
Anticipated Award Date: TBD
7. PROPOSAL SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Proposals shall include:
1. Company name, address, and contact person
2. Lump sum project price
3. Equipment manufacturer and model numbers proposed
4. Estimated start and completion dates
5. Warranty information
6. Proof of licensing and insurance
7. Any exclusions or assumptions
