Title: Construction Management of Shea Boulevard Widening Project

The Town of Fountain Hills (the “Town”) is issuing this Request For Proposals (this “RFP”) seeking proposals (“Proposals”) from qualified, licensed firms (“Vendors”) interested in providing professional services consisting of Construction Management for the Shea Widening Project (the “Services”), as more particularly described in the Scope of Work . In accordance with the Town’s Procurement Code, the Town will accept sealed Proposals for the Services specified in the Scope of Work .
The Shea Boulevard Widening Project between Palisades Boulevard and Fountain Hills Boulevard involves expanding the south side of Shea Boulevard to accommodate an additional eastbound lane. The project will generally include earthwork, asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, drainage improvements, erosion protection (which may include retaining walls), pavement striping, signage, landscaping, and other necessary incidental work. Firms with experience managing projects involving the State of Arizona are encouraged to apply.
This project is identified in the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Arterial Life Cycle Program (ALCP) as project ACI-SGA-10-03-C, and is partially funded by Regional Area Road Funds (RARF) through Prop 400. Final geotechnical testing is being performed on the slope adjacent to the proposed roadway in a specific section. The results and recommendations of the geotechnical engineer will be captured on the final plans (i.e. resulting in possible retaining walls, slope stabilization, etc.) The final plans are forthcoming and will be included with the Construction Contract IFB. The construction contract is anticipated to be awarded by Town Council at the June 17, 2025, meeting.
