CITY HALL GEOTHERMAL AND BUILDING ELECTRIFICATION FEASIBILITY STUDY. The City of Chatfield, Minnesota is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified engineering and energy consulting firms to conduct a geothermal and building electrification feasibility study for Chatfield City Hall. The purpose of the study is to determine whether a geothermal ground-source heat pump system and/or other building electrification strategies represent a technically, operationally, environmentally, and financially viable long-term infrastructure investment for City Hall. The City seeks a consultant or consultant team with demonstrated experience in geothermal feasibility analysis, building energy modeling, ground heat exchanger (GHX) analysis and sizing, HVAC and building electrification, and implementation of geothermal systems in existing buildings. The selected consultant will work with City staff and other relevant partners to evaluate existing conditions, develop and compare system alternatives, identify a preferred approach, and provide the City with sufficient information to determine whether and how to proceed with future design and implementation.
