Summary

The Hollywood Police Department will be moving staff from their current building to the adjacent New Police Headquarters building during the time frame of approximately May - August 2026. The City is looking for a moving company that can move select furniture, shelving, televisions, office equipment, personal effects, documents, supplies, safes, and other items from the existing building to the new building. The moving will be phased by department over a period of approximately 3 months. Moving personnel will be accompanied by Police Department staff at all times during the moving process.

There is currently a staff of approximately 330, counting both sworn officers and civilian staff, that will need to be relocated from the existing facilities to the new building. These staff members will have two banker's boxes that need to be relocated to the new building, along with computers, monitors, and other related office items. A select list of furniture, shelving, and televisions will also need to be relocated from the existing building to the new building; see attached preliminary list of these items to be moved, in addition to the personal boxes and computer equipment. Equipment for certain departments including but not limited to Training, the Police Athletic League, Public Affairs, Honor Guard and Quartermaster will also need to be relocated. Other items such as one large ice machine, a sliding filing system, and janitorial supplies/equipment will also need to be relocated. Personal items, office equipment, files, select furniture items, and select equipment will be relocated per the phased move plan. The existing Police Headquarters building is located at 3250 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood FL 33021. The adjacent New Police Headquarters building is located at 401 S. Park Road, Hollywood FL 33021.

Background

The moving company will need to be available throughout the phased move plan, over a period of approximately 3 months. Each week, a different department/division of the police department will be moving. We are in the process of finalizing our move planning, and will work closely with the selected moving company on scheduling. Moving personnel will be escorted at all times by Police Department staff, due to the secure nature of the facility and the documents being moved. Companies with prior experience with moving secure facilities and sensitive documents are preferred.
