OVERVIEW
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6 is conducting market research to identify potential sources for Architect-Engineer services to complete the below scope of work. The place of performance will be the hospital campus of the Hampton VA Health Care System in Hampton, Virginia. Forward all questions to the point of contact identified below. This is not a pre-solicitation notice, but the magnitude of construction for this project is currently between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000 but is subject to revision prior to release of a solicitation.
SCOPE OF WORK
Architect/Engineer (A/E): The Contractor will perform all professional A/E services necessary to provide design and construction period services for project 590-26-901 Construct Hybrid OR. The A/E project involves renovating and upgrading Operating Room (OR) suite #5 into a hybrid OR, encompass comprehensive architectural and engineering tasks. This includes the renovation of approximately 1,600 square feet covering subfloor, ceiling, structural elements, and walls for a hybrid operating room, an equipment room, and a control room. The scope requires a thorough review of existing building systems to assess and implement necessary upgrades or installations for medical gas systems, electrical wiring, lighting, and HVAC systems tailored to the demands of hybrid surgical environments. Additionally, the project mandates evaluation of radiation protection needs through detailed lead shielding analysis and the preparation of a radiation shielding report for incorporation into the design. Also to support integrated system controls for real-time imaging, data management, and communication between imaging and surgical technologies.

Based on responses to this notice, some of the below requirements may be modified, where necessary, prior to release of any solicitation.
Requirements for Registration of Architects or engineers registered to practice in the particular professional field involved in a State, the District of Columbia, or an outlying area of the United States shall prepare or review and approve the design of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, or other engineering features of the work performs work under the applicable NAICS code.
