Pump Station 9 Expansion and Rehab - Forcemain Cleaning

The City of Lawrence, Kansas is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide for the cleaning of an existing 20-INCH wastewater forcemain by pigging.

Wastewater Pump Station No. 9 is located near 3613 Brush Creek Dr in the southeast quadrant of the City. The station pumps dry weather and wet weather flows via a single 20-INCH PVC forcemain installed in 1998 approximately 3,500-FEET to a drop manhole located at the southwest corner of W 31st St and Atchison Ave. As-Built documents are included as an attachment with this solicitation.

Drawdown testing performed at the station in March 2022 noted significant capacity loss within the forcemain. It is assumed that this is due to settled solids within the forcemain. The goal of this project is to clean the existing forcemain and restore its hydraulic capacity in anticipation of facility expansion currently under design.
