REQUEST FOR SURVEY QUOTE
You are invited to submit a Survey Quote for DEPOT STREET IN SOCIETY HILL in Darlington County,
SC which is to be surveyed for storm drainage improvements. The deadline for quotes to be
received is no later than Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Deliverables shall include:
1) The digital point file using the specified key codes, plus an abbreviation description key for
other points;
2) A surface and break-lines in an AutoCAD compatible dwg file; and
3) All property identification cards, deeds and plats adjacent to the project on the east side of
both W. Depot and E. Depot Streets.
All materials must be delivered by Monday, March 16, 2026.
Unless otherwise indicated, the road needs to be surveyed in its entirety along with stormwater outfalls.
Whether indicated on sketch or not, survey needs to include at a minimum everything in the attached
specifications, plus:
All points 30 feet off centerline of road on both sides;
Take shots a minimum of every 50 LF on east side and every 100 LF on the west side;
SCDOT rights-of-way should be in the survey;
All iron pins (property corners) that can be located should be included;
Underground and overhead utilities should be included;
Shots should be taken a minimum of 100 lf upstream and downstream of any outfalls found;
All culverts, swales, wood-lines, inverts, top-of-banks (TOB), edge-of-pavements, etc.
Extra shots should be taken at vertical high and low points, horizontal points of intersection, and
horizontal radii;
Shots should be taken 100 lf each way at every street intersection; and
Building corners and utilities within 50 LF of the centerline should also be recorded, as well as extra
shots indicated in the sketch.
Depot Street: Beginning at Longbluff Road proceed north approximately 2,000 LF (approximately 500
LF north of the US 15 intersection)
Old Railroad Bed Ditches: (± 1,500 lf).
On the east side of the Depot St right-of-way is an old railroad bed (heavily wooded) with
ditches on each side. Survey ditch inverts and TOB shots approximately every 400 LF for
both ditches, plus at the culvert crossing from the roadside ditch to the railroad bed ditch.

SURVEY SPECIFICATIONS
Pee Dee Regional Council of Governments
The surveyor shall provide an electronic survey file in 1983 SC State Plane coordinates, International Foot (SC83IF)
projection in comma delimited ASCII format (PNEZD) containing for each point a:
P-Point Number
Z-Elevation
NE-Coordinates (Northing and Easting)
D-Description
Survey shots shall be taken for the entire width (30 ft left and right of centerline) and length of the project limits a
minimum of every 50 or 100 feet (as described) including but not limited to:
Centerline of Road
Concrete Drives
Top of Curb
Top of Slope
Edge of Pavement
Dirt Drives
Back of Curb
Top of Bank
Edge of Dirt Road
Back of Sidewalk
Gutter
Ground Shots
Edge of Concrete
Front of Sidewalk
Centerline Ditch/Swale
Intersection Radii
Asphalt Drives
Bottom of Curb
Toe of Slope
Shots shall be taken more often where substantial grade or alignment changes occur; such as, but not limited to street
intersections, steep slopes, etc. Survey shots shall be taken at all street intersections a minimum of 100 lf each direction.
Additional survey shots shall be taken of all stormwater outfalls (even outside the project limits) applicable to stormwater
drainage of the project area a minimum of 100 linear feet upstream and downstream including earthen flumes.
Survey shots shall be taken for all storm drainage within the project limits including, but not limited to:
Reinforced Concrete Pipe
HDPE
Drop Inlets
Corrugated Metal Pipe
Other Pipe and/or culverts
Box Culverts
PVC Pipe
Catch Basins / Junction Boxes
Headwalls
Individual sizes and materials of items shall be noted in the point’s description. Surveyor shall lift grates or manhole
covers to determine accurate inverts for all inlets and outlets.
Survey shots shall be taken for miscellaneous items that fall within the project limits such as, but not limited to:
Fencing
Houses
Retaining Walls
Buildings
Trees / Shrubbery
Headstones
Different types and sizes of fences and trees shall be noted in the descriptions.
Survey shots shall be taken for all utilities that fall within the project limits such as, but not limited to:
Telephone Pedestals
Power Poles / Utility Poles
Gas Lines
Underground Telephone
Manholes (include type – i.e. sewer,
Gas Valves
Underground Electricity
drainage, telephone, etc.)
Water Valves
Fiber Optic Cable
Cable TV
Water Meters
Fire Hydrants
Overhead Electric
Blow-offs
Luminary Poles
Guy Wires
Surveyor shall provide all property identification cards, deeds and plats adjacent to the project on the east side of both W. Depot
and E. Depot Streets. Survey shots shall be taken for all property markers and/or iron pins, found or set. Surveyor is expected to
look for iron pins using metal detector or other standard methods and uncover to provide accurate location.
Shots along platted and/or SCDOT right-of-way, where applicable, shall be recorded in the point file.
Surveyor shall use the attached key codes and shall provide a list of description codes with their corresponding definitions if
other points are used. Point descriptions for identical items shall be identical throughout the entire point file. All points shall
have correct elevations attached. No ENG (Elevation No Good) shots will be accepted. Please see the attached list of standard
key codes to be used.
Control points shall be set at each end and midway (a minimum of every 1000 linear feet) and shall be recorded in the point file.
