The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, anticipates a future procurement for a firm-fixed-price construction contract. The scope of work includes road milling, asphalt paving, pavement striping, and installation of snow-plowable markers along Route 165 (Mount Pleasant Road), adjacent to the south abutment of the North Landing Bridge in the City of Chesapeake, Virginia.
Description of Work:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Norfolk District is seeking eligible firms capable of performing work that includes milling and repaving along Route 165 (Mt. Pleasant Road) near the North Landing Bridge in Chesapeake, VA. Work consists of milling 2 inches of asphalt and overlaying with 2 inches of SM-9.5A in both southwest- and northeast-bound lanes, with additional full-depth repairs in a 30-foot section northeast of the crossing arm, involving 6 inches of BM-25.0A and 2 inches of SM-9.5A. Pavement markings will match existing double yellow centerlines and single white edge lines, and snow plowable markers will be installed to match current placements. All work shall comply with the latest VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications and Standards.
In accordance with FAR 36.204, the Magnitude of Construction for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. NAICS 237310 – Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction, applies to this project. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis.
Sources are sought for all interested firms with a NAICS code of 237310, with a small business size standard of $45,000,000.
Construction Time:
The work will commence first with performance beginning within 10 calendar days of receipt of Notice-to-Proceed (NTP). The construction period of performance will be approximately 90 calendar days from issuance of the NTP.
INDUSTRY SURVEY
This confidential survey questionnaire is intended to assist the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in evaluating the capabilities of prospective contractors for road construction services. Please respond to the following questions, which pertain specifically to the road milling, asphalt paving, and pavement striping project located in the City of Chesapeake, Virginia. Please provide company’s name, address, point of contact, phone number, and e-mail address.
Please only include a narrative of the requested information. Additional information will not be reviewed. This Sources Sought Synopsis should not be construed in any manner to be an obligation of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District to issue a contract, or result in any claim for reimbursement of costs for any effort you expand responding to this request. No solicitation is currently available.
