DJJ Prison Rape Elimination Act Auditors

The Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA) requires that states achieve compliance with PREA. The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) shall ensure pursuant to the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA), 28 C.F.R. Part 115 that youth who are in the custody and confined within a DJJ facility should be protected from any type of sexual misconduct. All juvenile confinement facilities covered under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards must be audited at least every three years to be considered compliant with the PREA standards, with one third of each facility type operated by an agency, or private organization on behalf of an agency, audited each year. DJJ is seeking a single awardee for the services of a Department of Justice (DOJ) Certified PREA auditor to perform PREA audits at 15 residential facilities throughout Kentucky in accordance with the PREA audit schedule determined by DJJ.
