Title: Road, Stormwater and Utility Improvements on Calienta Street, Shoal Line Boulevard and Flamingo Boulevard
Addenda: 3
Release Date: 12/31/2024
Due Date: 2/17/2025
The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners is soliciting Vendor/Contractors that are active in drainage infrastructure improvements and the construction of stormwater treatment systems, utility upgrades, underground utility work and road widening.
Calienta Street is a major local road located in Hernando Beach that runs from Shoal Line Boulevard, north to Maplewood Drive. This section of roadway services commercial and industrial areas provides access to the County boat ramp facility and several residential neighborhoods in Hernando Beach. Due to the recent maintenance activity on the Hernando Beach Canal the roadway is seeing increased industrial type traffic associated with the commercial fishing industry. In addition, there are frequent forklift crossing both at the Marina located on the north end as well as with the seafood packing operations. This is coupled with recreational boat launch traffic utilizing a public boat ramp on the west side and parking on the east side of the roadway. The section of roadway also sees flooding during typical storm events due to the lack of roadside conveyance and treatment with runoff draining directly into the Gulf canals. The proposed project consists of road widening and storm water improvements providing pollution abatement for waters draining into the Gulf, neighborhood flood relief, and enhanced traffic safety.
Offers for furnishing the above will be received and accepted up to 10:00 am, local time, Monday, January 6, 2025, via the Hernando County Procurement Department eProcurement Portal. Only electronic submittals through the eProcurement portal shall be accepted by the County.
This project will be funded by federal grant monies through the Gulf Consortium and must meet all requirements of the RESTORE Act.
