Fuel Cell Technology

The New York State Office of Mental Health (“OMH”) is currently exploring options to integrate fuel cell technology into our operations to reduce energy consumption, provide supplemental electrical energy if a facility encounters power failure, enhance sustainability, and reduce carbon emissions. We are seeking information from potential suppliers to better understand the capabilities, suitability, and cost-effectiveness of fuel cell solutions for several of our psychiatric centers. Specific site maps, electrical maps, and energy consumption figures for the target OMH facilities are contained in Exhibit 1, attached in this RFI.

This Request for Information (“RFI”) is not a formal procurement, nor does it represent a commitment to issue a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) in the future. This RFI is an informational inquiry only. No contract or agreement will be made based on the results of this RFI.

A separate RFP may be released at a later date based upon the information received in response to this RFI. Responding to this RFI is entirely voluntary and will in no way affect OMH’s consideration of any proposal submitted in response to a subsequent solicitation via an RFP.

Any and all information obtained as a result of this RFI may ultimately be used all or in part for the formation of an RFP.
