USACE HNC Contractor Safety Seminar

PURPOSE: Safety Seminar - All Firms Working with USACE Huntsville Center (CEHNC) Programs: Electronic Security Systems (ESS), Secure Facilities (SF), Utility Monitoring and Control Systems (UMCS), Furniture, and Facility Technology Integration (FTI-Gen and Med)

On December 10th and 11th, 2024, the USACE-Huntsville Center’s Safety Office will be hosting a voluntary meeting for the Corporate Safety Managers (or Competent Persons that write the Accident Prevention Plans or other safety submittals) conducting work in the following HNC programs: Electronic Security Systems (ESS), Secure Facilities (SF), Utility Monitoring and Control Systems (UMCS), Furniture, and Facility Technology Integration (FTI-Gen and Med). There is no fee for this class, however, individual contractors are responsible for providing their own funding for any additional costs they might incur from sending employees to this optional training (i.e. transportation, lodging, etc.).

This class will discuss safety submittal requirements as they pertain to the CEHNC programs, as well as provide guidance, answer your technical questions, discuss the new EM385-1-1 changes, talk about mishaps from our projects and additional content of the contractors’ choosing. This meeting is meant to assist our contractors or those wanting to have a contract, by providing safety content and discussions that are meaningful to the attendees. Help us accomplish this goal by submitting content requests when you return your registration to us.

We look forward to meeting everyone on December 10th and 11th 2024 at the USACE-Huntsville Center at 8am CST. Please be aware that if you attended our last meeting in May 2023, we have relocated. Our new building is on Redstone Arsenal, near Gate 9, at 300 Secure Gateway SW. Please allow extra time to get on the Arsenal because there are often long lines at the gate. We are anticipating the class to last 2 days. As space is limited, we are allowing up to 2 people from each prime contractor to attend in person. If space is available after the initial registration period, we may allow a third or fourth employee. For those of you that are not able to attend in person, we will establish a live Teams Meeting online. We will send out a formal schedule and other pertinent information via email once we have finalized the agenda and attendees.

Please provide the attached registration sheet to us by 15 November 2024 at 1600 hrs CST. This will allow us time to prepare content based on your requests, as well as submit all attendees’ required paperwork to our security office. For those that don’t already possess a Common Access Card (CAC) to get onto the Arsenal, additional steps will be required to gain access. Due to requirements to get on post, as well as enter our facility, NO LATE REGISTRATIONS will be accepted. Please submit registration requests to CEHNC-ESS-Safety@usace.army.mil.

Presenters from the CEHNC Safety Office include but are not limited to: Kyle Shireman (Safety Manager for Energy and SFB) and Tara Payne (Safety Manager for Operational Technology-UMCS/ESS/FTI) and Joshua Lecroy (Safety Specialist for Multiple HNC programs). Additional Safety Office personnel might present if their schedules allow for it. Also included may be some discussions from the respective Program Managers on the USACE side as well.
