Summary
I. MISSION & GUIDING PRINCIPLES
The mission of the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is to provide statewide leadership of a high-quality mental health and addiction prevention, treatment and recovery system that is effective and valued by all Ohioans. DBH strives to be a national leader in implementing a comprehensive, accessible, and quality-focused system of addiction and mental health care and wellness for all Ohio citizens. II. PURPOSE
1. The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors
to provide the PAX Tools® New Beginnings trainings and activities for Women’s Recovery to be conducted in Ohio. 2. Promotional and Marketing Services for community/state outreach, conference participation, flyers and videos. 3. Technical Assistance for promotion, training readiness, implementation, capacity-building, internal outcomes. 4. Stakeholder collaboration including meeting attendance and partnership development. 5. Trainer induction/professional development including implementing a multi-step process in Ohio to recruit, train, mentor, and develop a pipeline of Ohio-based PAX trainers for in person training events. 6. Provide training programs in Ohio that include 2 training types: PAX Tools for Women’s Recovery: New Beginnings Workshop Facilitator Training and PAX Tools for Women’s Recovery: New Beginnings. These will include materials and modules as appropriate 7. Evaluation services that will collect participant information during registration, post-training survey to assess knowledge gained and a mid-implementation survey 8 weeks after training to assess outcomes. III. BACKGROUND (PAX Tools® is a collection of trauma-informed evidence-based behavioral strategies for families and recovery support professionals to promote the development of self-regulation in children. Recovery professionals who participate in PAX Tools Workshops for Women’s Recovery Facilitator Training will receive the strategies and materials they need to become certified facilitators of New Beginninngs Worshops in recovery settings. This training is available in live virtual and in-person formats. Facilitators deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based strategies that help women in recovery strengthen relationships, build collaboration skills, and increase self-efficacy. Professionals who attend training will receive all the strategies and materials they need to implement PAX Tools for Women’s Recovery New Beginnings to be used during workshops, small-group sessions, or one-one meetings. PAX Tools Women’s Recovery New Beginnings is a collection of trauma informed, evidence-based strategies designed to strenthen relationships, enhance collaboration, and build self-efficacy. These strategies are simple to incorporate into everyday routines and support the creation of a nurturing environment for women in recovery as well as the staff who work with them. Participants will also learn how to apply PAX Tools with the young people in their lives to promote self-regulation, develop prosocial skills and reduce conflict. Those who attend this workshop will receive all the skills, strategies and materials they need to effectively implement PAX tools with the young people in their lives) IV. SCOPE OF WORK AND DELIVERABLES Planning
1. Promotional and Marketing Services
o Provide community and state presentations. o Attend conferences (presenting and/or hosting an informational session/booth). o Disseminate promotional information, including flyers and videos. 2. Technical Assistance o Support stakeholders with promotion, training readiness, implementation, capacity-building, and internal outcomes when necessary. 3. Stakeholder Collaboration o Attend stakeholder meetings. o Create stakeholder collaboration partnership Training and Material A. PAX Tools for Women’s Recovery: New Beginnings Workshop Facilitator Training – This training provides recovery support professionals who have already completed PAX Tools New Beginnings training with the skills and license to become certified facilitators of PAX Tools for Women’s Recovery: New Beginnings Workshop in recovery settings. The training also provides a New Beginnings Workshop Facilitator Chest which includes materials necessary for use during workshops, small-group sessions or one-on-one settings. B. PAX Tools for Women’s Recovery: New Beginnings Workshop. This training provides participants with skills and strategies to incorporate into everyday routines and support the creation of a nurturing environment for women in recovery as well as the staff who work with them. Participants will also learn howto apply PAX Tools with young people in their lives. The training includes materials necessary for use during workshops. C. Professional Development Consultation Professional Development Consultation o Virtual PAX Chats to assist, guide implementation, and enhance outcomes. o Sessions may involve professionals, clients, and administrators. Evaluation Services o Collect participant registration information. o Collect post-training survey (two days after training completion). This survey captures training feedback and participant knowledge. o Collect mid-implementation survey (eight weeks after training completion). This evaluation captures data from the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire and Social Competence Scale. V. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF CONTRACTOR (Contractor must be qualified as an agency and provide qualified personnel to perform all specified trainings along with all other services rendered as mentioned within the scope of work. Contractor must be certified in the provision of PAX Tools trainings and have experience providing this training to individuals in the community. Contractor shall not be subject to an “unresolved” finding for recovery under Section 9.24 of Ohio Revised Code. |
