Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) Safety Training Services
1. Purpose & Scope
The City of Urbandale is seeking proposals from qualified safety consulting or technical training firms to
deliver onsite, OSHA-compliant safety training for Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs). The
training must cover both Class 3A (Scissor Lifts) and Class 3B (Boom Lifts / Aerial Platforms) for our
facilities staff.
2. Training Requirements
The selected vendor must provide a comprehensive program that adheres to OSHA 1926.453 standards.
* Location: Onsite at our facility: Urbandale, Iowa.
* Audience: Approximately 8 staff.
* Core Curriculum:
Classroom/theoretical instruction (equipment inspections, stability, hazard identification,
o
fall protection).
Hands-on practical evaluation using our onsite equipment.

3. Proposal Submission Requirements
Interested firms must submit:
* Program Syllabus: A summary of the course curriculum and the estimated duration per session.
* All-Inclusive Pricing: Total cost structure broken down by flat daily rates, per-student fees, and
any applicable travel expenses.
* Scheduling Availability: Training dates that are available in February 2027.
4. Timeline
* RFP Issue Date: September 28, 2026
* Proposal Submission Deadline: November 1, 2026, by 5:00 PM CST
* Target Training Execution: February 2027
