Overview
This project will repair and replace components of the City of Pasadena’s storm drain system to enhance reliability and reduce flooding risks. Work includes replacing deteriorated storm drain pipes, installation of cured-in-place (CIPP) pipe liners and missing catch basin inlet screens, repairing concrete spalls and structural cracks at catch basin facilities, and performing routine maintenance such as pipe televising , cleaning, and catch basin cleaning at locations identified in the FY 2022 Storm Drain Master Plan.
The City owns approximately 34 miles of storm drain pipes (including 6,456 linear feet of corrugated metal pipe installed from 1925 -1953), over 1,300 catch basins, and hundreds of culverts. Many of the pipes and inlets are in various stages of deterioration depending on their slope, age, and the type of soil surrounding them. Many of these elements are aged and require maintenance. Existing damaged, substandard, or missing structures result in inefficient operation and create risk-prone facilities. As a result, infrastructure shall be repaired and/or replaced as recommended by the FY2022 Storm Drain Master Plan
