    ADDENDUM #1
    PROJECT:
    #148-MAINT-054
Asheville High Flooring at CTE Building PROJECT
The solicitation named above is modified as set forth in this Addendum. The original RFP Documents and
any previously issued addenda remain in full force and effect, except as modified by this Addendum, which
is hereby made part of the RFP. Proposer shall take this Addendum into consideration when preparing and
    submitting its Proposal.
This Addendum #1 to the RFP# 148MAINT054 contains the following additions, clarifications and/or
    changes:
    Addresses answers to questions received.
QUESTIONS received from one or more vendors. ANSWERS are in red font:
    1. When I met Tim Shelton at the high school yesterday to get some measurements. He told me
everything, but the two bathrooms and the janitor’s closet was getting new LVT. In the documents
it just lists 8 rooms and the hall. I assume that the room numbers apply to the classrooms but don’t
know for sure since they are not numbered on the floor plan. All the areas except the bathrooms
are color coded for new flooring including the janitor’s closet. So is it to be included or not? Please
let me know so I can get this finished up and turned in but the due date. Everything in yellow on
the map attachment is included in the scope of work, including closets. The only two areas not
included, as indicated on the map attachment, are two bathrooms.
    2. Since the existing flooring has not yet been fully removed, I wanted to confirm how Asheville City
Schools would like proposers to account for potential subfloor preparation (moisture mitigation,
leveling, etc.) that cannot be fully assessed prior to bid submission. This is not on a slab, so
moisture is not an immediate concern. Leveling is to be performed by the contractor.
    3. Should proposals include a standard allowance for preparation, or would unforeseen conditions
identified after flooring removal be addressed separately if encountered? No, all costs should be
    included.
    4. Additionally, is there an anticipated timeline for when flooring removal will be completed prior to
the project start? We anticipate flooring removal in June.
