Construction, Renovation, and Demolition Waste Implementation Plan for the Bow Valley Region

The Bow Valley Waste Management Commission (BVWMC), in partnership with the Towns of Canmore and Banff, the Municipal District of Bighorn, is seeking a consultant to develop a regional implementation plan to reduce the amount of landfilled Construction, Renovation, and Demolition (CRD) waste.

The main deliverable of this project is a CRD waste implementation plan that provides time-based and specific actions for regional partners to support BVWMC’s strategic goal to “Restore regional CRD diversion rates to consistently over 70% with a long-term goal of achieving zero CRD waste generated in the Bow Valley”. While the bulk of the plan should focus on achievable short-term actions, it should also signal a longer-term shift to more circular practices, recognizing waste as a resource and economic development opportunity.
