DESIGN AND CONSTRUCT EAST SIDE PLAZA PLAYGROUND

The Town of Manchester is soliciting creative, outside the box proposals from qualified playground design-build vendors to design and install a children's playground for ages 5-12. The project budget is capped at $300,000, inclusive of design, equipment, surfacing, installation, shipping, permits, and contingency.

As part of a repurpose school project, the park/playground greenspace around the school building has been upgraded to community linear/pocket park to benefit the neighborhood and build upon the successful initiatives facilitated over the past 15 years by the Office of Neighborhood and Families (i.e public farmers markets, community gardens and family/community events). The playground location is 160 Spruce Street. The school has been transferred over to a private developer who will turn the building into 40 market rate apartments. The Town of Manchester will continue to own an area around the building which is designated for the neighborhood liner/pocket park. A new playground is important to the families and children who live in this densely housed neighborhood.
